Data Insight: For Medicare Patients, Race Has Great Impact on COVID-19 Than Telehealth

This Data Insight examines the impact of growing telehealth services on a Medicare patient's risk of contracting COVID-19. Analysis reveals race plays a larger role in COVID-19 safety guideline adherence and testing positive for COVID-19 than access to telehealth. Results highlight a large racial disparity, as black Medicare patients were more likely to follow COVID-19 safety guidelines, yet between five and seven times more likely to test positive for COVID-19.
