Account Executive

Job Description

The goal of this role is to develop new business from companies with whom we are not currently engaged. This is largely a building role, meaning that the bulk of the first few months will consist of an aggressive outgoing sales effort —identifying companies who have the propensity to buy; engaging these prospects through meaningful outreach, resulting in a discovery call; conducting a thorough needs assessment; and creating an integrated sales proposal that generates net-new business.

You must have a consultative sales approach. We are looking to solve problems for our clients and form long-standing partnerships.

Successful Candidates have:

  • 2-5 years of sales experience
  • A proven track record of breaking new accounts and landing new logos
  • A proven track record of at-or-over quota performance
  • A solid understanding and the ability to execute a consultative sales approach— selling ideas and solutions vs products
  • An understanding of the current digital marketing landscape and content marketing

Your skills and approach can be described as:

  • Client service-focused
  • Strategic problem-solver: uncover client needs and package the right solution to address them
  • Effective telephone sales skills
  • Develops relationships within client organizations to identify additional contacts and expand budget opportunities

The Xtelligent Media editorial team creates original content on topics of interest to healthcare executives and IT professionals that support healthcare organizations. Our network of websites and events provide our audience with perspective and insights about the topics, products, policies and companies that play a role in the increasingly complex healthcare ecosystem. Our coverage areas include: mobile health, health IT analytics, electronic health records, value-based healthcare, population health, health IT security and others.

We are looking for an experienced journalist to join our editorial team and produce content for our network of websites. The position requires the candidate to maintain a consistently thorough understanding of key terms and topics related to their specific coverage areas as well as healthcare in general. In addition, s/he will have insight into industry dynamics, the impact of technology, and an understanding of the inter-relationships among terminology and roles within the industry. 

The ideal candidate must be able to work independently and productively to create content.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and write relevant online-only articles on health IT and healthcare–related topics
  • Research potential story ideas
  • Identify and connect with subject matter experts in healthcare for interviews and commentary
  • Use SEO best practices and social media (Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+) to drive organic site traffic
  • Maintain sound ethical and journalistic standards
  • Remain consistent with our editorial house style

Experience and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in online media or equivalent
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, particularly in a B2B setting
  • Proven track record in online writing and publishing centered on SEO practices
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team of editors
  • Basic understanding of information technology
  • Proficiency using Wordpress (preferred but not required)
